Eugene sizzles! Community members and visitors are invited to spend their summer outside enjoying this unique series of outdoor concerts, movies, performances, breakfasts at bike bridges, skate competitions and dancing. Enjoy open air movies in our local parks and bring a picnic to the much-loved Sunday afternoon concerts in Washburne Park. Head downtown on Wednesday evenings to take part in everything from Circus Circus! for families, and open air dancing, to a fashion show hosted by local artists. Details: All events are family-friendly. Most events are free; downtown events are free with donation of one can of food to Relief Nursery; Skate Competitions $3. Bring chairs to downtown; blankets, lawn chairs and picnics to the parks. No glass containers, alcohol, smoking, or pets. All movies will have subtitles for the hearing impaired. Subject to change or cancellation due to weather.

Wed, 8/4 @ 6:00 p.m. Downtown at Broadway Plaza. Circus Circus! A fun evening for all! A circus on the street will provide pure entertainment by a variety of performers, including gymnasts, fire dancers, jugglers, and martial artists. Then you are invited to join in the fun at Circus Jam, an open stage for you and local performance groups to show off with your circus skills! In addition to these performance events, try your hand at circus arts including juggling, hoola-hoops, diablo’s, and poi spinning. Be dazzled, participate, watch and learn -- a night of pure fun! Fri, 8/6 @ 7:30 p.m. Downtown in the Atrium Bldg, 10th & Olive. No Shame Theatre. One theatre. Five minutes. Three rules: 1. All pieces must be original. 2. No breaking anything, including the law. 3. Five minutes and the lights go out. Each show is composed of the first fifteen acts to sign up at 7:30. Welcoming skits, poetry, dancing, monologues, music, and experimental. Bring your friends and bring an act -- or there's no shame in just watching.

Broadway Plaza will transform into a community studio for a perfect mixture of arts and outdoors. This evening will feature “live art” - artists making art on the spot and “participatory art” where YOU have an opportunity to explore your inner artist. Thu, 8/12 @ 6:30 p.m. Maurie Jacobs Park, park at Valley River Center or bike. Taste. Taste is funky, sweet and smooth guitar-driven R&B. A four-piece band from Eugene, they perform covers of classic songs from artists such as Stevie Wonder and Al Green, as well as plenty of fresh originals. Taste will make you want to dance and fall in love.

Back by popular demand, Eugene’s fashion artists shine bright once again at this year’s Runway Masquerade, a fantastic event, starting at approx. 8:30 p.m.! This show of Eugene’s fashion scene on the runway, along with the vendor booths, brings out the best in Broadway Plaza! This exciting event kicks off at 6:00 p.m. with top notch stylists creating master works of art with hair! Local artists will be cutting, spraying, sculpting and bending right before your eyes, crafting unique hair styles and sculptures right on the runway.
